1. Country and project background
Thailand, located in the middle of the Indochina Peninsula in Asia, was ranked as one of the "Four Asian Tigers" in the 1990s and is also one of the world's newly industrialized countries and one of the world's emerging market economies. Thailand is implementing the "Thailand 4.0 Strategy", striving to transform into an innovation, creativity and technology-driven economy. The Eastern Economic Corridor is the flagship project of the “Thailand 4.0 Strategy”. Thailand is seeking Chinese investment to assist its 5-year “Eastern Economic Corridor Development Plan” (EEC) in the eastern coastal region, thereby boosting the domestic economy. The Thai government believes that EEC can be well connected with China's "Belt and Road" initiative.
At the same time, the demand for talents who understand both Chinese and English in the Thai market has increased year by year as China and Thailand continue to deepen business cooperation. On the one hand, Thai local companies hope to recruit compound talents who understand Chinese culture and can tolerate Western culture. On the other hand, as China-Thailand economic and trade relations have been stable and good, more and more Chinese enterprises have chosen Thailand as the first choice for development in Southeast Asia, which has also expanded the demand for Chinese students studying in Thailand.
Shaanxi Institute of International Business and Trade respectively reached a consensus on higher education cooperation with the University of Sinava, Thailand, and Southeast Asian University, and redesigned the talent training program and goals for the international trade, business enterprise management, financial accounting and other business fields, and created a specialty for Starting point, undergraduate model training. Oriented training program to obtain a bachelor degree recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
